Gas prices 43 cents higher than last year

Thanksgiving drivers will face gasoline prices in Washington that are about 43 cents a gallon more expensive than the same time last year, according to AAA statistics.

Statewide, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $2.04; that's up from $1.61 last year. Nationally, the average price is $1.94 a gallon.

"Although fuel prices remain high ..., we are seeing a slight decrease in fuel prices heading into the holiday," said AAA spokesperson Janet Ray, in a statement.
