2 (More) Top Officials Are Reported to Quit C.I.A.
Two more senior officials of the Central Intelligence Agency's clandestine service are stepping down, intelligence officials said Wednesday, in the latest sign of upheaval in the agency under its new chief, Porter J. Goss.

As the chiefs of the Europe and Far East divisions, the two officials have headed spying operations in some of the most important regions of the world and were among a group known as the barons in the highest level of clandestine service, the Directorate of Operations.

The directorate has been the main target of an overhaul effort by Mr. Goss and his staff. Its chief, Stephen R. Kappes, and his deputy resigned this month after a dispute with the new management team.

An intelligence official said that the two division chiefs were retiring from the agency and that there would be no public announcement. Neither could be named, the official said, because they are working under cover.

5. nah, because they're "undercover" "deskbound bureaucrats"
"Mr. McCain, in suggesting that the agency had been disloyal, has singled out the disclosure of intelligence reports about Iraq whose conclusions were at odds with administration assertions about the war.
"

Translation - for pointing out that the President is a Liar and not just misinformed.

Maybe they think they work for America and not just for George. That the tax payers who pay $40 Billion a year for their services, deserve the truth.

9. Even as they downplay losing two more as "routine"
...this quote represents something different: "Basically, they're looking at a president, a director and his chief of staff who are change agents. There are some who would like to stand in the way and prevent that change from taking place, and they shouldn't win."

Sounds more like a war. or a purge.

12. from intelligence reform budget control stuff
$40 Billion being how much intelligence budget the Pentagon controls.
I suppose theres a different budget for CIA so, more than $40b but the $40B would be inaccurate refering to CIA.

Forgive please, should have said Gazillions or something else less specific.

2. Just today Boosh said he wanted to hire more qualified agents
Yet he is doing nothing to stop the exodus of current qualified agents.

I guess they weren't yes-men.

4. Porter Goss's name will be in the same place as Bush's name
in future history books, as an example of incompetence that is stunning in its depth and breadth. It's a piss poor manager who can't keep key people happy and who substitutes a slavish devotion of all his underlings for true conpetence and respect.

It will take the CIA many years to recover from these fools.

6. Spies or Syncophants
Fuck you, Chimpus Khan.

Fuck you, Porter Goss

God save America.

I fear our intelligence quotient, so very critical to getting to the heart of the fundamentalist assault on our nation from without and (now, sadly), from within, is critically compromised by incompetence and a mad grab at power. The faiolures of the past, were there any, will look small in comparison to what we're about to see.

Chimpus Khan, if there is another attack on this country, may you rot for eternity in the depths of Hell.

I am angry.

I am sick.

I am fearful.

I am disgusted.

8. Vigilance and truth is what intelligence is all about.
You see, you hear, and you report truthfully. Without the truth, it is worthless.

14. Highly trained, experienced, professional spooks quit. Naive,
inexperienced partisan hacks take their place. Something is very wrong with this picture.

Folks, the "Three Stooges" are now the head honchos of the US Intelligence Community. That's right our zany old friends....Moe, Larry and Curly are now, or will soon be, in charge of keeping America safe.

If the US is hit by another terrorist attack, we know exactly who to blame.
