China denies troop build-up (on border of Korea)
"CHINA yesterday denied media reports of a Chinese troop buildup along its border with North Korea and said all was well in the isolated communist state despite speculation about leader Kim Jong-il's hold on power.

A South Korea newspaper quoted sources in Washington saying satellite photos showed 10,000 Chinese troops preparing for deployment along the border and speculated they could be preparing in case of sudden political change in the North.

Deputy Foreign Minister Wu Dawei said: "Such reports are completely groundless. After reading these people will think it's true and this is extremely dangerous."

"The political situation is stable, the economy is developing. The leaders are engaged in reforms of the economy and living standards are improving considerably compared to before," he said.

Who to believe anymore? Austrailia? South Korea? Washington? China? I don't know if I believe any of them anymore.

5. If I were Dubya, and had allowed N. Korea to get nukes, and then found
that N. Korea had missiles that could deliver them to the U.S.. But all my troops were in Iraq so I couldn't really do much. I would give China the green light. I'd say, go ahead, take Kim Jong-Il out and you can have N. Korea. China is at least improving and would be better than Kim Jong-Il...somewhat.

7. Why wouldn't China deploy..
Do you think if Mexico went primative dicator and started to manufacure nuclear weapons that we wouldn't station a few thousand troops on the border......

China is acting like any sane nation would...

What disturbs me is why they won't, if true, just admit it....

Are they afraid the olympics will be stripped away or that the US would boycott the games......

8. Because, unlike Rambo who heads the US Government, China is still
trying to WORK with N. Korea, and keep them from doing something REALLY stoooooopid. Remember the old policy of "diplomacy"?? I think it fell out of our vocabulary as soon as Billy the Kid took over our government.

Actually, I think China is trying for the best, and preparing for the worst. That's what REAL leaders do.
