Ukraine Opposition to Launch Strike in Vote Dispute

KIEV, Ukraine (Reuters) - Ukraine's opposition takes its campaign to overturn a presidential election result they say was rigged to the factories and railways Thursday by trying to organize a country-wide strike.

"We do not recognize the election result as officially declared," Yushchenko said at the square Wednesday.

Pro-Yushchenko protests have brought central Kiev and towns in western Ukraine to a halt. But stopping industry could prove tougher.

"We now understand it is impossible to use strictly legal means," firebrand opposition Yulia Tymoshenko declared. "We must launch a consistent battle leading to the complete destruction of this regime."

Well, how 'bout it Dems, Greens, and other believers in Democracy - do we have the the same grit as the people of the Ukraine when dealing with probable fraudulent elections? Or will we just roll over again like a litter of malnourished puppies, like we did in 2000?
