Year After Baghdad, Bush Visits Troops by Phone
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) made Thanksgiving Day calls from his Texas ranch to U.S. troops abroad on Thursday, a year after he made a secret trip to spend the holiday with soldiers in Iraq (news - web sites).

"The president wanted to express his gratitude for their service and sacrifice and to wish them a happy Thanksgiving," said White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan.

Last year, Bush secretly flew to Baghdad for Thanksgiving dinner with U.S. troops.

This year, the president spent the holiday at his Crawford, Texas, ranch, where he also rode his bike, chopped some brush and had a traditional turkey-and-stuffing meal with family.

Hey, no more campaigning for the Chimp, no quickie trips into dangerous areas to pose with plastic turkies. Just down to wingnut bidness for the next four years.

There's tens of thousands of American boys and girls in Iraq who would give anything to be doing these things with their families right now.

FUCK YOU, GEORGE. FUCK YOU.

7. How pathetic
>President Bush (news - web sites) made Thanksgiving Day calls from his Texas ranch to U.S. troops abroad on Thursday, a year after he made a secret trip to spend the holiday with soldiers in Iraq (news - web sites).<

In the meantime, hundreds of thousands of families across our country either anxiously await news from their loved one in Iraq, or cry bitter tears at the first Thanksgiving dinner without the loved one that was killed in Iraq this year.

I guess I should be thankful he deigned to pick up the phone. After all, there was brush to be cut. Wouldn't want to waste too much time when there's no photo op involved.

But, his supporters ought to be disappointed anyway. He bravely phoned it in.

14. Actually I am rather flat about it
People voted him in. It is what they wanted. They choose to want this war to continue. So I cannot do much about it. Young people are still signing up as we speak, to kill people that are now deemed a real enemy whereas in the beginning they were a people waiting for us to release them from a brutal dicatator., Many innocent people are being slaughtered.

What can I say and what can I think about that?

I am flat and do not support it. I simply cannot jump on that bandwagon.
