Marine whose friend was killed in Iraq gets call from president
GREECE, N.Y. -- Lance Cpl. Nathan Clarke was granted a highly unusual 10-day leave to attend the funeral of his best friend, Brian Schramm, a fellow Marine killed in combat in Iraq last month. On Thanksgiving Day, Clarke got a call of condolence from President Bush.

"He thanked Nathan three times for his service to his country and expressed his very deepest sympathies for the loss of his very good friend," Clarke's father, Allan, said Friday.

snip........

On Thursday morning, Bush called 10 members of the military representing all five branches of the service.

"As the men and women of America's armed forces are sacrificing for the liberties we all enjoy, the president wanted to express his gratitude for their service and sacrifice, and to wish them a happy Thanksgiving," White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan said.

3. How inspiring. Reminds me of the picture of Hitler patting
the cheek of the little boy in uniform called up to defend Berlin in its final days.

4. BULLSHIT! - "...sacrificing for the liberties we all enjoy..."
Our liberties were not threatned by Iraq, and, God bless those now caught in a hell of bush's making, none of the slaughter that has ocurred in Iraq since the murderous bush regime invaded that nation in no way has anything to do with the protection of our "liberties."

You can write that bullshit down, frame it, and hang it next to your "mission accomplished" poster, regime liarwoman Claire Buchan.

5. But he won't go to their funerals
So, do you think they were pre-recorded calls?

6. That would mean Bush would still have to sully his hands
and read it (at least) once to record it. That would hurt his "beautiful mind" that he shares with Babs.

More likely, Rove just hired a voice actor to play Bush on the phone.

On a similar topic, I've heard Dick Cheney can throw his voice...right out of Bush's mouth.

12. To be fair - Iraq did represent a major *Economic* threat...
-In about 10 - 30 years if Queizi Hussein managed to carry out Saddam's vision of a 'unified Arab Empire' under the rule of Baghdad. (A very good possibility)
Under those circumstances, he could have price-gouged us to death.

But in the immediate world, Saddam decided to make the Euro Iraq's reserve currency - another more prescient economic threat.

But since Americans are too dumb to wrap their heads around 'reserve currency' and 'economic threats', this administration made up the bullshit about WsMD.

I think America should know the truth, and be told that we have to take serious ECONOMIC measures to ward off these threats, not send our good soldiers to die in the sand for it.

Tell anyone they could have kept their child alive if we embraced economic triage, and I guarantee they would want to know why we didn't.

Being the compassionate one who calls to tell you "I just sent your Buddy to his death." Somehow I bet he enjoys telling people about death. Ignorant, warped, sadist...
