Rice Confirmation Hearings Postponed
Ah, maybe because they want to assure he is still president first?

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=7&u=/ap/20041128/ap_on_go_pr_wh/rice_confirmation

WASHINGTON - At the White House's request, confirmation hearings for Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) as secretary of state will not begin until Congress reconvenes in January, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said Sunday.

When President Bush (news - web sites) nominated his national security adviser to replace Colin Powell (news - web sites) at the State Department, Sen. Richard Lugar (news, bio, voting record) said he would try to bring his committee together in the first week of December to begin the Senate confirmation process.

"The White House suggested that that would not be appropriate — that is, in December," Lugar said on "Fox News Sunday." "So we'll not be having hearings in December, but we'll have hearings as soon as possible in January."

1. The new congress will be more heavily pubbie
and they know knee-jerk party loyalty is the only way that bitch can get confirmed in a job she is so ill suited for.

Even if it's only a delay, or a drop of false hope, thanks for the reprieve.

13. Then they can smear his rep and save Condi from blame, all in one day.
After Powell leaves, they are going to leak all sorts of dirt in a preemptive strike.

12. I almost said something I shouldn't so I won't but I might have
because I really think Rice is so intimate with W that ANYTHING is possible...

My God, she reads the news for him, chews it, spits it onto a spoon and he swallows without any further chewing.

18. The NeoCons want Rummy gone
If Rummy were to leave, * may just give Condi Defense instead of State, which is what she'd prefer. This could be a reason for postponing confirmation as Sec. of State.

He's been EVERYWHERE but here.
I like to think of him as the Cher of the Bush Admin.

He needs Powell Farewell Tour t-shirts.

21. Q uestion: What the hell is this incompetant doing anywhere in gov't?

Even if you believe the WH handouts she is the one person responsible for the fact that 9/11 was permitted to happen. She was told by Clark, CIA, FBI, and the tooth fairy that bin laden was going to attack the US with airplanes, and even approx. when. She positively ignored them ALL.

I prefer the LIHOP or even MIHOP theories myself. I find it just incomprehensible that all of these people involved in our gov't f***ked up, all at the same time, and all in the direction of NOT protecting the Conintental US. I'm no statistition, but this begs to be examined by one. What are the odds?

22. Kick for the morning crew.
It's a smart move to delay her confirmation hearings. Can't have the bobbling head of Condo Lizard on Terrorvision during the Holiday Shopping Seize-on; might serve to depress sales and would certainly frighten the little children.

She will be secretary of state barring regenerated spine on the GOP.
