Maria Shriver: Schwarzenegger Won't Be President
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 09:16 PM by khephra
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver, says America may someday amend the U.S. Constitution and elect a foreign-born president -- but it won't be her husband.

"Forget about it. It is not going to happen. The process takes years, and this is as far as it goes," Shriver, the niece of former President John F. Kennedy, told Vanity Fair magazine amid talk of amending the Constitution to allow the Austrian-born film star to run for president.

Shriver also said that despite their political differences -- she is a Democrat, he a Republican -- their marriage was strong and passionate.

"(We're) still engaged with each other, hot for each other, into each other," she said. "There hasn't been a moment when I have been bored. I have worked and worked on my marriage, and it has paid off."

34. Why do you say that?
Schwarzenegger better than Bush. I'd say just about the same.

He lies continually.

He is out of touch with reality.

He has failed to do anything good for California.

Basically, he did what Gray Davis would have done on floating more debt and then called it a victory.

He is working on schemes to take away overtime pay in CA.

To reverse the controls on electricity prices--rederegulate it again. That was fun the last time wasn't it?

He is the wedge to help Republicans destroy this blue state if that is possible.

One of our biggest problems is the overuse of the initiative, yet Ahnold is using the initiative as his personal path to ultimate power.

I'm just happy he can't invade any other state to steal resources.

39. I say it for a couple of reasons
1. The "action hero" is considered a moderate on social issues. He is pro choice & NOT anti gay.
2. Arnie does not even approach chimp's dangerous religious mental illness.
3. Arnie may be a liar (all politicians are), but I doubt he could match the chimp's most outrageous deed: Lying us into a needless war thus killing 10s of 1000s of people.
4. If it weren't for chimp, Davis would still be in office. Arnie is little more tha a symptom of bushco.
I'm in no way endorsing arnie. The reality is that chimp is sooo evil that no one can touch him.

5. "and as for all the groping..."
"my policy is don't ask, don't tell..."

more power to her. my mother told me about the time, 25 years ago, when she saw Herr Gropinator in a deli in NY... he squeezed into a booth with a young woman and two other men, and proceeded to touch her and make fun of her requests for him to keep his hands off.

this has been part of our family lore for years, our "brush with fame."

the hotter they stay for each other, the safer other women may be.

33. That's too funny that you say that.
I know somebody that saw him do that to a friend of theirs at a fundraising function in California. He made a honking gesture on her breast and embarassed her to death. We've known and talked about it for years as well. It was pretty much just a given when it came out that, that must be widely known. Sure enough didn't matter.

Isn't it ironic that countless women all had actual sexual harassment claims that he admits to publicly, but it's widely accepted and nobody cares. They even want to amend the constitution for him to let him run for President.

Now Clinton has a mutually consented interaction with a woman where no harm was inflicted and because he doesn't tell the world his business, we spend 70 million looking into it and he is impeached?

Plus Arnold is pro-choice so wtf???

23. why all the hate against arnold?
i see a lot on this board. no im not a GOP lite, but come on he is a moderate republican, and even more liberal on social issues than some democrats. hes in no way a far right winger. he is pro-choice, pro-gay rights, pro-stem cell research, and i think he was even against the clinton impeachment.

47. There *is* the whole "girly man" thing.
A phrase which he is apparently very proud of, since he feels the need to sputter it about every two minutes. It's a mean-spirited and divisive thing to say, particularly in that it reduces Democrats like John Kerry and Max Cleland, whose pinkies are more manly than he is.

Moreover, as a woman--does that make me a manly-girl?--I can't just gloss over the fact that he views women as his personal erection tools--whether they like it or not (which makes him morally FAR worse than Clinton).

If he's a moderate, it's because he has to be...it *is* California, after all. He could never win an election there if he openly espoused radical right-wing dogma.

32. I think CA would secede from the US
...before Ah-nuld would ever get in the WH. Of course, CA is the state that funded stem cell research, that OK'd medical mj (and the Supremes are starting to screw with that)...who knows, as the fifth largest economy in the world, maybe they might just feel they'd get a better shot at determining their own destiny by leaving the Union.

A few years ago, I'd never have even speculated on something like that happening. Now it seems like a possibility, albeit a remote one.

So one day, Ah-nuld could be president of the new nation of Gal-eeee-vor--nee-ya!

Lastly, are those her real cheeks? They look exactly like cheek implants that hardended and needed to be taken out a decade and a half ago.
