ICRC concerned about bodies, sewage in Falluja

GENEVA, Dec 10 (Reuters) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Friday expressed concern about civilians in Falluja, where sewage is flowing in the streets and hundreds of bodies apparently lie in a warehouse since a U.S. assault.

The Swiss-based humanitarian group was drawing up plans to restore the city's clean water supply after damage to water treatment facilities and the sewage system, ICRC spokesman Florian Westphal said.

A team of seven ICRC Iraqi staff, including engineers, entered Falluja on Tuesday for the first time since the assault by 10,000 U.S. troops backed by Iraqi units began on Nov. 8.snip

"Our team was told by the U.S. army that there are several hundred dead bodies in a warehouse in the city," Westphal told Reuters, adding that the ICRC team was unable to see the site.

2. Ya know, I wish the media would stop reporting all the negative of Iraq
They should be focusing on all the positives.

Like, no, not the sewers, uh, the schools, no, kids are sent away when cities are under seige...

Funny, seems all the pollyannas who wanted the media to report on all the good stuff were maybe... WRONG. Iraq seems to be a true quagmire and will be the gift that keeps giving for years to come. Bush* and Co really have stirred up a hornets nest.
