Jerry Springer Gets Radio Show

By The Associated Press

CINCINNATI - Trash TV king Jerry Springer will begin hosting a three-hour weekday radio talk show in January.

Springer, a former Cincinnati mayor and Democrat who may be interested in running for statewide office in Ohio, will start the show on Cincinnati's WSAI when the Clear Channel station switches from oldies music to liberal talk.

He said on Thursday that he wants to syndicate the show nationally.

I don't think the stripper pole would work.

2. He's really a very good commentator and interviewer.
I wondered if he wouldn't get pulled in for this -- hope he brings Jene and Jerry Galvin over, too.

I remember back when that's what he did -- he had a run-of-the-mill interview show on one of the Cincinnati TV channels that he moved up to Chicago, it was more of a one-on-one interview format, and he really was very good at it. He also did editorial commentary on one of the local newscasts for years before he started the mouth-breather circus that actually made him all that money.

Now it seems to be a foregone conclusion that the old 'SAI is going over to liberal talk, too -- yay! Good. This part of Ohio needs it.

3. Springer's political donations
long history of Democratic donations

Now why would a prolific GOP donor like Lowry Mays (ceo Clear Channel) back a liberal talk show?

My guess: conservatives a jumping with glee at the prospect of making pig Jerry Springer the face of liberal Democrats.

Way to go, Jerry.

4. Bingo
That's exactly the angle that I'm wondering about.

Besides, how liberal could it be with Clear Channel not only pulling the strings, but then following it up with a faux "news" report?

5. Oh I almost forgot about that. Liberal talk, bookended by...
...reactionary 'news'.

I just guarantee the phrase "party of Jerry Springer" is going to be repeated ad nauseum by their shills between now and Nov. 2006.

I only see this as a losing proposition.

6. If we had a Democratic party that fought back we could counter that with.
The Republicans are the "party of Ted Bundy" and "Timothy McViegh" but we have a party obsessed with being nice.

9. His show is an embarrassment to humanity
I happened to catch his show in the morning and I just had to watch to see just how low it would go and boy.....was it low!

The subjects don't even sit down anymore. And a bell like a boxing bell is rung occasionally so they could start fighting.

It was truly pretty sick.

(Bet the audience voted for W)
