HOUSE WATCH-9/10/2003 (#1) (credit transactions)

The House convenes at 10:00 AM.

The following measures will be considered under suspension of the rules:

H.R. 2595, the Native American Veteran Housing Loan Program bill
H.R. 2433, the Health Care for Veterans of Project 112/Project SHAD bill
H.R. 978, the federal annuity computations adjustment bill
H. Res. 315, congratulating Rafael Palmeiro of the Texas Rangers for hitting 500 major league home runs
H. Res. 266, commending the Clemson University Tigers men`s golf team for winning the 2003 NCAA Div I men's golf championship
H. Res. 359, recognizing the Dalai Lama

There will then be a motion to go to conference on H.R. 2555, the FY 2004 Homeland Security Appropriations bill. The Democrats are expected to offer a motion to instruct conferees.

The House will then consider H.R. 2622, the Credit Transactions bill (managers: Oxley/Frank). There will be one hour of general debate and consideration of preprinted amendments.

Then, there will be a ROLLED VOTE on the Ruppersberger Motion to Instruct Conferees on H.R. 1308, the Child Tax Credit bill.

Next, Mr. Edwards will offer a motion to instruct conferees on H.R. 1588, the FY 2004 Defense Appropriations bill.

Mr. Michaud will then offer a motion to instruct conferees on H.R. 1, the Medicare bill.

Finally, Mr. Davis (TN) will offer a motion to instruct conferees on H.R. 1308, the Child Tax Credit bill.
