Bush Honors Three with Medal of Freedom
Edited on Tue Dec-14-04 03:06 PM by seafan
U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) awards the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former CIA (news - web sites) Director George Tenet in a ceremony in the East Room of the White House, December 14, 2004. Two others received the nation's highest civilian honor; retired U.S. Army Gen. Tommy Franks, who oversaw combat in Afghanistan (news - web sites) and the initial invasion of Iraq (news - web sites), and former Iraq administrator L. Paul Bremer. REUTERS/Larry Downing

From another article source:

<snip>

The president will present the awards at a White House ceremony December 14th.

Franks oversaw combat in Afghanistan and commanded U-S forces during the Iraq invasion.

Tenet led the C-I-A for seven years. He was criticized for intelligence failures leading up to the Nine-Eleven attacks and the never-proven prewar allegations that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

Bremer was the top U-S official in postwar Iraq until he oversaw the transfer of power to an interim Iraqi government in June.

3. Bush gave the 'Freedom' medal
to people who are responsible for the murder of 100,000 innocent Iraqis?!?!?

Imagine what the ignorant little piece of shit would have given Hitler.

that Iraq was a total disaster by giving people medals for their part in it! Totally 1984! Insist that the disaster is a success for which men should receive medals!
This totally devalues the medals, of course. They might as well be made out of cow-poop now.

edit for spelling

So, Tenet presided over bogus intelligence on WMD's, yellow cake, etc...

And Franks went to war with insufficient troops, putting our guys in grave danger and he failed to capture bin Laden....

And Bremer disbanded the Iraqi army and now the place is in total chaos without them to help maintain their own security....

Wonder what kind of medals * would award if ya actually succeeded at y'er job??
