Father of Sept. 11 Victim Publishes Poems
TOKYO -- In the weeks after his son was killed in the attack on the World Trade Center, Kazusada Sumiyama was in agony. He went to New York to find answers, but came back with nothing.

Back in Tokyo, he turned his despair into poems and vignettes as he rode the train to and from work.

Sumiyama has now published a collection of his short poems under the title "Odes to the Soul of Ground Zero" to remember his son and mark the second anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"Feelings inside me started popping up. I began searching for words in my head," he said in an interview with The Associated Press before leaving Tuesday for New York to attend Sept. 11 commemoration ceremonies.

"I want the families of the other victims to read it."
