Top Iraqi general rejects Bush's criticism of his troops
Associated Press

BAGHDAD, IRAQ - Iraq's top general today rejected President Bush's criticism that some Iraqi government troops were unwilling to fight insurgents and have deserted the battlefield, saying the president had been misinformed.

...

A day before the attack, following a string of deadly suicide bombings in southern Iraq, Bush made a sobering assessment and criticized the performance of Iraqi troops.

"There have been some cases where, when the heat got on, they left the battlefield — that is unacceptable," Bush said at a Dec. 20 press conference.

Asked about Bush's comments, Zebari told AP: "I think the president received misleading information."

Zebari, Iraq's only four-star general, insisted none of his troops had deserted from combat. But he acknowledged that some recruits undergoing training had quit after being told they would be posted to the restive city of Fallujah, which was taken in a U.S.-led assault in November.

1. I would think desertion is one thing that bush** would know. He did it
himself.

15. Thank you Bouncy Ball!
If junior wants the U.S to be liberated by the Iraqis he should listen carefully to this Iraqi General, its the only thing junior has going for him at this point.

The truth always sounds crazy and crazy leaders don't always tell the truth.

Case in point;

"Interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi recently said the government commands almost 100,000 trained and combat-ready Iraqis, including police, national guard and army, and has accelerated the development of special forces and a counter-terrorist strike force.

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has said the number of trained Iraqi forces is going to increase by 45,000 by elections set for Jan. 30."

10. The post-Christmas Busholini spin on Iraq: "It's Their Fault"
When General Hay(?), in response to the question of whether the US needed more "boots on the ground," said that the problem was with the Iraqi security forces for not quelling the insurgents, my chutzpah detector started pinging loudly. The Bushoilini Regime, true to its corrupt roots, is embarked upon yet another blame-the-victim propaganda theme. It's never the regime's fault.

Dead Iraqi children? Their fault.
Dead Iraqi women? Their fault.
80% unemployment? Their fault.
Demolished cities? Their fault.
Demolished civilian infrastructure? Their fault.

The Fecal Führer is infallible; he never makes a mistake. :puke:

11. It won't be long before they kick the US out. We don't know how to deal
with other people. Bush will have the legacy of having turned the entire world against the US, a once great nation.

13. Strong words from Bush...
Gee, Mr. Bush--those are pretty strong words about soldier desertion.

You've never stepped one toenail on a battlefield, due to the silver strings that were pulled for you. You must get massive Botox injections to keep a straight face, as you make such inane, hypocritical statements.

The next time you want to comment on the horrors of battlefield desertion, you might want to include your own cowardly actions.

You sick, twit.

14. Hey, Iraq's having an election next month
And their soldiers all have other priorities right now. They're just working on their favorite candidates' campaigns, doncha know. Let the poor bastards from the U.S. ghettos do the fighting!

Now there's some reasoning that will resonate with Stupidhead.
