Former French hostage: Iraqi militants wanted Bush re-elected
PARIS (AP) French journalists held hostage for four months in Iraq said their militant captors told them they wanted President Bush to win re-election.

In a four-page account of their ordeal, one of the reporters, Georges Malbrunot, also wrote that they saw several other hostages who were later decapitated. The journalists said their captors viewed foreign businessmen working in Iraq as their enemies.

One of the captors from the group calling itself the Islamic Army in Iraq said Bush's re-election would boost their cause, Malbrunot wrote in Friday's edition of Le Figaro, the French daily he works for.

''We want Bush because with him the American troops will stay in Iraq and that way we will be able to develop,'' Malbrunot cited the captor as saying.

1. It makes me so ANGRY when all all those damn conservatives claimed...
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 06:00 AM by Forever Free
that Al-Qaeda and the terrorists wanted John Kerry to be elected. Anyone with HALF a brain would realize that Bush's re-election would benefit terrorism worldwide. I swear the stupidity, ignorance, and outright lies and distortions are sickening. :puke:

4. Yeah, but part of the problem was our man, Kerry didn't have the balls to
to challenge this line of thinking. Did he even sort of insinuate- "the terrorist in Afganistan and Iraq are saying that Bush is helping their cause" : NO We had a problem in that we had a candidate that decided he didn't want the job after all.

2. It's a logical conclusion
...wish Americans would have thought this one through then, and now. A vote for Bush was a vote for guarenteed terror and violence.

3. Of course it was. That's why Osama
released his Bush commercial just before the election.

Worked like a charm, too.

5. Kerry sure didn't help them along with with this "logical conclusion". I
agree it is a logical conclusion. The problem was our candidate was either too polite - or was following some silly skull and bones honor ritual. We, and the soldiers, their parents, and the Iraqis live in the real world we don't have time for such nonsense- but Kerry did.
