Powell: U.S. Won't Hand Iraq Over to U.N.
Like they would want this mess. Who is kidding who here?

WASHINGTON - Heading for talks with reluctant allies, Secretary of State Colin Powell says the United States won't turn over all authority in Iraq to the United Nations.

"The U.N. isn't ready to handle it," Powell told ARD, a German television station, in an interview released Friday as he flew to Geneva for the talks.

"We want to work with the U.N., but we can't simply cede all responsibility and authority to the U.N.," he said in advance of meetings Saturday with German, French, Russian and Chinese foreign ministers and U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The United States, hoping its allies will provide troops and money in the face of continued attacks and mounting costs in Iraq, has proposed a U.N. Security Council resolution creating a multinational force under a unified U.N. command with an American commander.

8. Exactly.
And, plus, if the UN were running things, how would Halliburton get its billion-dollar no-bid contracts?

4. Hope Chimpy has a good time at the General Assembly
Now that this little item is out in the open, some delegates might - MAYBE - be tempted to see if they have any extra change in their car ashtrays to help us "build a democratic Iraq", etc.

Other than that, let's just say that I don't hear the breathy whisper of opening checkbooks anytime soon in Chimpy's UN-related future.

Of course, the whisper of opening checkbooks at his next fundraiser, that's a given.

5. Hey, would General Jodl have turned Poland over to the League of Nations?
HAH!

What makes you think Bushevik General Jodl (Colon Foul) will do any different?

If there's one thing Jodl and the rest of the Busheviks CAN'T have it's independant investigators hanging around Poland.

9. That's that. No internationalization of Iraq.
Which means Bush will have to stick to his colonial policy. And that means disaster for sure, because we don't have the forces necessary to consolidate colonial power in Iraq.

These assholes never learn a lesson. Never.

11. Neocons hate the U.N. anyway.
Head House Servant's just carrying Marstur's empty water bucket. When the Iraqi guerrillas finially kick our butt, the Repugs'll just say the U.N. and "Liberals" stabbed our boys in the back. These authoritarian types never take reponsibility for their own failures.

12. More like they don't want to hand over any of the oil....
Now the PNAC bunch, and the Bush regime, will have to eat the turds they planted. The bad part is, that the kids in the military are going to pay for it with their lives. Everytime some Hummer driving fuckhead fills up his rig, he's also pouring in a little of our soldiers' blood.

I hope the U.N. tells McSmirkyboy to take a flying leap, and also tells him to take his "boy" (Powell) with him.

Just had a vison ......: Bush, addressing the U.N., calling for more cooperation, and the entire U.N. Assembly, turns around, drops their pants, and/or dresses, and gives Monkeyboy a "full moon" delight!!!!

13. You don't say?
(snip)
Chances of nailing down an agreement this weekend in Geneva and at the United Nations in New York appear slim.

But Powell said, "I don't think there is a need to have a fight about this."

"Clearly the U.N. has a vital role to play," Powell said. "We've said this from the very beginning. And we should discuss and describe in the resolution what that role is."

Asked if the United Nations should play a leading role, Powell replied: "I said vital. I don't know what leading means."

(snip)

No shit-neither does anyone else in this @^%$#*! misadministration!

14. But didn't they say the UN was irrelavent?
I don't think the UN should agree to anything until the US allows UN weapons inspectors back in the country. The whole point of getting rid of Saddam was because he didn't comply with UN inspections. Now its W who won't let the inspectors back in? So should NATO attack Iraq to get rid of another rogue dictator?

17. Wonderful. They insult the UN while at the same time saying
they have some sort of "responsibility" in Iraq.

"The U.N. isn't ready to handle it,"

I don't like living in Bizarro World anymore. I want to go home.

20. Remember that Simpson's episode?
Where Homer gets his hand stuck up inside the vending machine? And it's a huge crisis? And it's all because he just WON'T LET GO of the can of soda?

That's what this is reminding me of.
