Bush Seeks $2.1 Billion More for Iraqi Oil Industry

Seems that in the $87 billion package is money to restore the oil wells. With the electricity being down so much, there is an oil shortage in Iraq and they have to import oil. And when are we going to invade Canada? They've never been mentioned. Are they reallyh #2??

restoring bombed oil pipelines should now be considered part of halliburton's contract. this problem isn't separate from their responsibilities, they are now a big part of it. halliburton's stock is soaring. let them funnel the money back into the business.

the oil pipeline in Iraq is 600 miles long. It is the obvious target of sabotage. The minute it gets fixed ($10 million later), it gets blown up again. It seems that the insurgents (whoever they may be) are always 10 steps ahead of Helliburton.

What can be done about this situation? The American public is waiting for those promises of oil $$millions to materialize (to pay for this big party). So is Helliburton.

There really doesn't seem to be a good solution. They could post guards every 10 feet to guard the pipeline. Lots of bucks there -- go back & ask for more.

Bury the pipeline underground. Lots more bucks -- they'd say no to this one.

We all know the market is the most efficient method of investment. Government is sooo inefficient, I know because Dick and George told me so. Let's let the markets figure out how to finance this mess!

So much for creative ways to solve problems. Just dip into the taxes and scoop out whatever you think might work.

The oil companies would solve this problem in about five minutes if they had a piece of the action. Oh wait, they do have a piece of the action. Guess it's easier on them to let Shrub try to fix it. They can keep oil/gas prices sky-high while Shrub figures it out. They do nothing and make huge profits.

DUH. Who's the sucker now?
