Attacks on U.S. Troops in Iraq May Worsen
JENNIFER C. KERR

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld warned Sunday that attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq may worsen this summer but he insisted that occupation forces there are making progress.

"I'm afraid we're going to have to expect this to go on and there's even speculation that during the month of July, which is an anniversary for a lot of Baathists events, we could see an increase in the number of attacks," Rumsfeld said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Even though major fighting has ended, Rumsfeld cautioned "we're still in a war." He also said American forces - now totaling about 150,000 - will likely remain in Iraq for the "foreseeable future."

1. These idiots are making the Dems campaign commercials
for them. Video of the chimp lying about WMDs. Cut to "shock and awe." Then onto the chimp on the carrier proclaiming Mission Accomplished followed by number of troops killed after he made the statement. End with Rummy "we're still in a war" and American soldiers lives on the line "for the foreseeable future."

Fade to black while a voiceover says. "Can we afford four more years? Take back our country. Vote Democratic."

4. well, gee Rummie (the dummy) -
if your feckless leader had not declared "mission accomplished" you could say that we're still at "war" - but now you must use that "g" word - guerilla - and say it loud enough so that we can hear you -

otherwise, you asswipe - you will be doing "revisionist history"

6. We're in a war, but it's not a guerilla war, but...
but major operations are over.

So what kind of war is it?

Attacks may worsen, but we're making progress. I would think progress would imply attacks would lessen, if our objective is to pacify Iraq. I guess that's why I'm not Sec. of Defense.

8. One man's quagmire ...
is another's trifecta. Americans need to resign themselves to the big picture: the GOP-at-the-wheel Vietnam waking nightmare -- supplemented with at-home war on citizens, wheresoever assets seizures justify.

http://www.jihadunspun.com/newsarchive/ "First Martyrdom Operation In Iraq, Heavy American Losses" Jul 11, 2003/ ...While several trucks were transporting rubble, one of the drivers returned, his truck loaded with explosives after unloading the rubble outside the airport. Inside the airport, he carried out the explosion which led to great physical and material losses among the ranks of the Americans.
