SENATE WATCH-9/16/2003 (#1) (FCC RULES VOTE TODAY)
108th Congress
1st Session
Tuesday, September 16, 2003


The Senate convenes at 9:30 AM.

The Senate will consider S.J. Res. 17, the FCC Rule Disapproval resolution, with a VOTE to occur thereon on 10:45 AM.

The Senate will also continue consideration of the motion to go to conference on S. 3, the "partial-birth abortion" ban bill, and H.R. 2754, the FY 2004 Energy/Water Appropriations bill.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. for the party conferences.

This is an important day, hopefully the dems and a few repubs can get this right. Of course we can count on Zell to be the sellout.

McCain is speaking now coming out strongly against UCC expanding ownership rules. Good, that's one repub.

edit: Wow, not only does he not want this expansion, he asks for an investigation of current media ownership.
