Soldier Detained for Making Bomb Threat Against Unit

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - A soldier preparing to deploy to Iraq was detained after he allegedly called in a bomb threat against his unit, the Army said Wednesday.

Spc. Rodney Whitacre, 26, of Decatur, Ill., was caught by military police in the middle of his allegedly threatening phone call Sunday, according to a release from the Fort Campbell public affairs office. snip

Whitacre, who returned from Iraq last year, was preparing for his second deployment. He is with the 4th Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division.

Excuse me while I don my skeptic hat, but either Spc Rodney Whitacre doesn't exist, or he was set up.

Really, the MPs that I've worked with would be extremely hard pressed to catch someone months after making such a threat, let alone ~during~ making one :eyes:
