An aircraft carrying the American country rock band the Dixie Chicks has been involved in an accident at Glasgow Airport.
The wing of the twin-engined jet carrying them from a concert in Dublin struck an airport building while taxi-ing to its parking slot.

9. Good question
It's safe to assume the plane was landing (since they are scheduled to play..).. whether it was on the ground and taxiing to the gate or it was a crash landing will answer a lot of questions.

When in reality they'd ALL LOVE to see the Dixie Chicks splattered across some corn field somewhere. I don't buy the care and concern bullshit for a nanosecond.

sorry for yelling. just seems like even many DUers have stopped thinking or looking at the evidence and are going off lately.

25. Limpnuts was "reporting" it breathlessly to the "20 million"
Then he had to "report" 15 minutes later that nobody was hurt. According to my wife, who heard it on the radio, Pigboy sounded quite disappointed.

May Limpnuts and his dittoheads burn forever in hell.

26. Taxiing is Actually Hard
It seems strange, but plenty of aircraft accidents and incidents occur on the ground. Most are minor. It's the rough equivalent of automobile fender benders.

I was a student pilot aboard a four seat Cessna a few years ago, and I was sitting still with the brakes full on, waiting for another aircraft to pass. That aircraft (another Cessna) decided to run into me. The bottom edge of his left wing dug a groove into the top side of my left wing. Totally his fault, and fortunately it wasn't a huge repair bill.

Taxiing is surprisingly difficult, because an airplane is a rather awkward object to move on the ground. It's sometimes a problem to conceptualize the space it occupies. It certainly doesn't drive like a car on the ground.

I also got to see an airplane (yet another four seat Cessna) flip over, tail over nose, in high (~40 mph) winds. Everybody was OK, but the plane had a fair amount of damage.

No one really cares about bending metal in the end. Human life is the valuable part. I'd gladly give up the whole airplane if it meant walking away safe.
