House passes gay-rights measure
OLYMPIA — With every Democrat voting yes, the state House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill that would make Washington the 16th state to ban discrimination against gays.

The bill, which passed 61-37, goes to the state Senate, where it has stalled in the past but has a better chance this year with Democrats in the majority.

The vote was a victory for state Rep. Ed Murray, D-Seattle, who has sponsored the bill every year since he joined the Legislature in 1995.

"We're very close," he said. "I want to see it through. ... I'd like to see it done on my watch."

The measure has passed through the House five times in the past nine years. Last year, Republican leaders in the Senate adjourned without allowing the measure to come to a vote.

2. Good News!!
So who are these 37 people who voted against it? What do they have against equality? Why do they support discrimination of homosexuals or of people who are perceived to be homosexual?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?

6. Gregoire Deserves A Chance To Sign It!
Let's hope that the legislature can get its collective act together and send it to the Governor for signature. Kudos to the Senate Dems for keeping it real, too!

7. Next up: Legislatures across the land vote for Flat Earth Amendments
For each step forward, there may be two steps back--until the idiots lose count and step aside.
