Texas House Speaker Subpoenaed To Testify In Fund-Raising Trial

Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick has been subpoenaed to testify in a civil trial next week that centers on allegations that Republicans illegally raised and spent corporate money in the 2002 elections.

It will be the first time allegations over the campaign contributions have reached a courtroom.

The trial comes in a lawsuit filed by losing Democratic candidates against Texans for a Republican Majority treasurer Bill Ceverha.

2. Technically - yes

It has to do with funneling corporate money to REPUG candidates for last minute attack ads. This is not all that happy a time for corporate repugs or Texas repug politicians. Stay tuned.
