Son of BTK victim still haunted

Man says he witnessed mother's slaying as a 5-year-old

Tuesday, March 1, 2005 Posted: 10:29 AM EST (1529 GMT)

WICHITA, Kansas (CNN) -- "I let the BTK in my house."

Those are the words of Steve Relford who, when he was just 5 years old, unknowingly let the wanted killer into his home on March 17, 1977. His mother, Shirley Vian, 24, was then bound and killed as he watched -- locked in a bathroom with his two siblings.

Nearly 28 years later, he is still haunted by what happened.

When he thinks about that day, Relford sees "my mother laying face down with a plastic bag over her head, a rope tied around her neck, all the fingers in her hand broken, her hands taped behind her back. That's what I remember."

Police arrested 59-year-old Dennis Rader -- a compliance officer for suburban Park City -- on Friday in connection with the BTK killings.

1. I say we "accidentally" leave this guy alone in the room with a bound BTK.
And a various assortment of tools for 10 hours or so. That would be fair.

This man's life was robbed by a piece of dog shit.

2. You have a devious mind. I like it !!!
I think that would certainly help this poor man to sleep better too, knowing that he sacked the guy that killed his mother so long ago.

Killing two birds with one stone, so to speak.

3. We're going to see plenty of this bastard for next few years.
I don't need a play by play every five minutes.

There are six million Michael Jackson stories "breaking" out there every second.

I could keep LBN spinning like a top. I don't care to give him or this Republican serial killer the time of day when there are bigger problems out there.

This isn't Faux news.

5. Try this for amusement ...
Whenever I hear via radio or TV a hint of the Michael Jackson's Trial saga, I turn the channel. It is my goal (and pleasure) to remain completely uninformed in this area.
