Rumsfeld Ill, but Continues Working
WASHINGTON -- Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has been ill for several days but has kept a regular, though reduced, work schedule mostly out of public view, his spokesman said Thursday.

"He picked up this bug that's going around," Lawrence Di Rita told reporters when asked about Rumsfeld's condition. "He's been in every day ... He's tried to limit his contact with people a little bit because he's been sick."

Rumsfeld, 72, is in his fifth year as defense secretary.

He canceled an appearance in Los Angeles last Friday because of his condition. The House Armed Services Committee had expected him Wednesday for continued testimony on President Bush's proposed 2006 defense budget, but aides said they were told he put it off because he was ill.

8. Assume the sick thing is a lie
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 09:03 PM by Skip Intro
A more likely scenario from the bastard who assured us he "KNEW" where the wmds so many have died to find were.

If it is a lie, what then, would be the truth?

Could it have something to do with the lawsuit the ACLU just filed?

Just thinking out loud.

Hopefully, treatment can be provided in an appropriate facility.

9. Rumsfeld vs. the Generals.... how very interesting....
http://slate.msn.com/id/2099277/Donald Rumsfeld vs. the Generals

Page 14: On Feb. 16, 2001, American and British planes bomb Iraqi targets to enforce the no-fly zones. No one from the Joint Chiefs of Staff bothers to inform the secretary of defense.

Page 6: Pressing for more power, Rumsfeld micromanages Iraq war plans. Gen. Tommy Franks tells him (according to insider accounts), "This ain't going to work. You can fire me. I'm either the commander or I'm not, and you've got to trust me or you don't."

Page 91-92: Bonus Rumsfeld snub: He admits he can't remember vetting Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech, the address that has come to define his foreign policy. "That speech was not particularly in my area," he explains.

13. Maybe after his visits to Iraq, he picked up the "bug" that many
of our military personnel have..OR perhaps he's gotten a good dose of that "harmless"(:eyes:) Depleted Uranium that our soldiers and Iraqis are coping with now.....

Thbbbbb, he would be lucky to have a mere flu/infection; the gutless meathead. :grr:

15. We got the same bug. It just lingers.
and we keep infecting each other. Yesterday we sprayed the workstations and cubicles with Lysol. In Rummy's case, perhaps they need to use RAID.

17. I wonder if the crazy bastard brought a chair into his office...
I couldn't believe it when I heard he doesn't sit down when he works. He actually has no chair behind his desk! He STANDS at a podium ALL DAY! (or so he says)...

The man is so poisonous a common cold or flu would probably be smothered and killed instantly by all of the venom he possesses anyway!:puke:

I have never been a person to enjoy the suffering of others. However in this instance I have to say I do enjoy it. The amount of pain this man has caused around the world only reinforces my feelings of this. I can only hope that this man's time is ticking away.
