Martha Stewart to Be Released From Prison
ALDERSON, W.Va. (AP) -- Part of Martha Stewart's sentence ends tonight when the 63-year-old homemaking authority leaves Alderson Federal Women's Prison to begin serving five months under house arrest at her $16 million Bedford, N.Y., estate.

Stewart's Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia announced Thursday that she'll board a private jet bound for New York between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. The company said she would make no public comments, but that a written statement would be posted on www.marthastewart.com.

Since inmate 55170-054 entered the prison on Oct. 8, the town of Alderson has seen a long line of Stewart supporters, celebrity friends and the just-plain-curious make the 12-mile drive off the interstate to see where she spent five months locked up for her part in a stock scandal.

Linda Blaney and her friends are making a cross-country trek to show their support. "We want to make sure she knows we were there and let her know we support her," said Blaney, who lives near Seattle. "This would not have happened to someone else. They slam-dunked her because of who she is."

I am sure that your doggies and kitties will be thrilled to have their mommy back!

She was used by the government to cover their own crimes. She is no Ken Lay.

23. I head (CNN) that it had grown 3-fold while she was in prison..
.. and according to the panel, her appearance on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart is only going to mean even more business, since instead of having outside companies do product placement, she can use her own products instead.

against the people who screwed her.. She'll have all the air time she needs. She should bring up the name "Ken Lay" in every interview.

15. I'm glad she's getting out too. I would of much rather seen Ken Lay
spend a few years in jail. Typical Republican bull shit. Attack the woman for a 50,000 dollar mistake, but let the guy who stole millions and put people out of their retirement money continue living in his multi million dollar homes. I guess it pays to be Friends with the president when your a criminal.

17. F*ckin' Cable Nets breathlessly covering this live
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 12:09 AM by RamboLiberal
Showing shot of prison entrance.

I'm pissed they're preempting midnight repeat of Countdown for this shit. For once I give Faux credit - they're not covering it. Whoops, spoke to soon, Faux is covering split screen, but still they're sticking with their regular program on sound.

But glad she's getting out - when the hell is Ken Lay going to get his turn in the slammer!

woman and I now admire her for just getting this over with - unlike the 'boys network' who are afraid of their own shadows and steal peoples retirement funds to build a house

you go girl martha - I have you in my prayers - may the light surround you - may your spirit guides guide you and keep you in safety

25. Today her stock is zooming skyward, off the charts !
Good for her. But another reason to be pissed at the MSM:

On the day of her conviction, her stock fell to $10. As republican as this whole thing stunk, I wanted to buy some of her stock at such an affordable share to show support to her company.

HOWEVER, the MSM had their "experts" on calling it "bottom feeding" which is a very risky investment. Not to mention, her company was doomed to fail. Not being a gambler, I decided buying a measly 10 shares wouldn't save her company anyhow.

I just wonder how many bottom feeding Republicans bought that day?

I don't know much about Wall Street, but I think, No, I smell, what's going on may be much worse than the crime MS was accused of.

And probably why I'm a po'Democrat :)

26. I hope she will talk about the ridiculousness of mandatory min sentences
She is in a position to get the public aware of these unfair laws, particularly in regards to first time drug offenders. She mentioned this on her website a few months ago. Martha is a classy lady.
