Election board asks audit (Nashville)

Behind the scenes whispers about 50,000 shredded voter registration cards and suspect use of Metro’s election equipment are now screams for help to Metro Finance Director David Manning as Election Commission board members voted unanimously Monday to request an independent audit.

It is the fourth such request this year, according to Administrator of Elections Michael McDonald, who agrees there needs to be a close look at some practices within his department.
