UN inspectors: 90 dangerous sites looted in Iraq
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N04601524.htm

UNITED NATIONS, March 5 (Reuters) - Some 90 sites in Iraq that the United Nations had monitored for unconventional arms materials have been razed or looted since the U.S. intervention, according to a new U.N. inspection report.

The U.N. Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC), created to track Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, based its conclusion in a Friday report on satellite imagery from sites with material that had weapons potential.

Repairs and new construction have begun at 10 of the 90 sites, said the report to the U.N. Security Council from Demetrius Perricos, the chief weapons inspector.

UNMOVIC, using photographs and serial numbers, previously reported that the looting of unguarded sites resulted in missile engines turning up among scrap in the Dutch port Rotterdam as well as in Jordan.

1. But what about the two sites that weren't looted? Huh, answer me that!
Liberal media elite won't tell you about the looters who got to vote in the elections. And don't worry about the weapons materials, we're nowhere near Iraq.

2. bush's invasion of Iraq makes us all LESS SAFE.
1. He was SO CONCERNED about Iraq's weapons, he never even bothered to order US forces to SECURE THE VERY WELL-KNOWN sites the UN had been monitoring for years.

And now our troops are being killed & their bodies & brains destroyed by the very weapons bush never bothered to order secured.

2. His invasion has INCREASED the threat of terrorism and is creating MORE TERRORISTS.

And to forestall the stupid freeping rightwingnuts; this was all KNOWN and MONITORED items that were kept SAFE and locked up and accounted for...UNTIL BUSH INVADED Iraq.

This is NOT "we found "WMD"".

This is NOT "Clinton's fault".

This is BUSH'S FAULT PERIOD.

much coverage it gets.

UNMOVIC, using photographs and serial numbers, previously reported that the looting of unguarded sites resulted in missile engines turning up among scrap in the Dutch port Rotterdam as well as in Jordan.

But the new report gave more comprehensive figures on how many of the unguarded sites were looted or destroyed in bombing during the U.S. invasion of Iraq two years ago.
