Germany beefs up anti-Nazi laws

BBC News

Germany's parliament has tightened restrictions on neo-Nazi marches to keep them away from sensitive memorials such as former concentration camps.

The changes make it easier for local authorities to ban such gatherings.

The new curbs target a planned march by the far right National Democratic Party (NPD) at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, near a new Holocaust memorial.

The 8 May march would coincide with the 60th anniversary of Germany's capitulation in World War II.

why don't we just restrict everyone in the world to their house and then we won't be faced with restrictions that restrict

3. They'll have to ban the Christian Democrats and Free Democrats too.
They're certainly havens for the "ex-Nazis" and their eruptions of revanchism and ethno-nationalism.

4. Yes, since Konrad Adenauer was such a Nazi
You know the CDU may be one of the conservative party in Germany, but guess what they are still far left of the Republicans if you compare political spectrum and there is overlap with the Democratic party.
They are so freaking Nazi like that their founder Konrad Adenauer was imprisoned by the Nazis.

Why don't you complain about the NDP or the Reps the actual right wing parties that have no redeeming qualities.
btw- I concede Stoiber does suck, but he wont be the Chancellor candidate next time around.

5. Adenauer wasn't a Nazi, of course...
...he wasn't any good and he certainly shared the Nazis favor for banning the communists, but he wasn't a National Socialist. My point is only that Nazi influence pervades many sections of the ruling sectors of German society. It has even extended into certain "left" forces. Many rightists feel that pointing the finger at the NPD or DVU let's them off the hook for racial scapegoating the Turks and so forth. There's nothing in the NPD program that hasn't been uttered by right factions in the CDU.
