U.S. Customs Agent Found Dead in Atlanta

ATLANTA - Hundreds of law officials extended their massive search for a man suspected in a courthouse triple slaying as officials on Saturday tried to determine whether the fatal shooting of a U.S. customs agent was related.



The agent was found dead Saturday, and officials said his blue 1994 Chevrolet pickup, pistol and badge were stolen.


The shooting occurred in the same general area where courthouse rampage suspect Brian Nichols used to live.


"We don't know if this is the same suspect," Fulton County Police deputy Chief G.D. Miles said. "Whoever is driving this pickup truck is a cop killer."

went to bed last night without watching the full coverage of this story. Sick to death of news that is irrelevant to my life considering the biggest scandal in american history happening everyday under our very noses commited by rich powerful white men.

Woke up this morning to every channel and aol front page screen of a wanted aremd and dangerous black man. Yesterday before this happened the black man was Michael Jackson which was being covered 24/7.

I am reminded of Bowling for Columbine.

I agree with the premise of your post, though. You can see the exhilaration in the eyes of the broadcasters as they think "Hot damn we got a cop-killer, courthouse escape by a big black man. It's a trifecta!"

in both murder cases...but the truth is...so many judges have "sold out" to big corporations and special interests that they might just be getting their "just desserts." I think that I will just wait and see before I allow my sympathies to overtake my emotions.

Sometimes the tragedies in our lives are just Karma or "turn about is fair play."

I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but in all of my years of living, retribution for any unkind or selfish act I may have caused to affect someone else was very swift in paying me back. That's why I think twice or even three times before I say or do anything DELIBERATELY to hurt someone else. The best thing is to ask yourself..."Would I want this to happen to ME?"

How about 24/7 coverage on all channels on tv of torture of people in US run gulags, most of whom are not even charged with crimes, torturing them to death, implications that go all the way to the White House of complicity in authorizing such detentions and torture.

But instead, the ghouls and perverts who have their faces on tv "news" as supposed news anchors make this tragedy into a fun fest of wall-to-wall coverage.

Is this coverage racist? They did much the same thing when the white guy, Mark Barton, the "day trader" killed 2 people and shot others, including his family, in 1999.

Would only be racist if we think in terms of the overall behavior of the "press" toward people of other countries who are of different races and how their lives somehow just don't seem to count, IMO.

I haven't watched any of this blood fest but couldn't escape hearing about it.
