--------------------------
BEIRUT, Lebanon The leader of Hezbollah says his group will never leave Lebanon defenseless.
He's rejecting a suggestion by President Bush that the Iranian-backed militant group disarm and enter the political mainstream.
Sheik Hassan Nasrallah (HAS'-ahn NAS'-ruh-lah) is criticizing Bush for not standing up to Lebanese demands that Israeli warplanes stop flying over Lebanon, and for not calling on Israel to release its Lebanese detainees. He gave an interview to Hezbollah's Al-Manar television.
Bush has said Hezbollah could shed its terrorist label and win U-S recognition if it disarms and stays out of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute.
