Study: Visa Drop Not From Tracking System
A Homeland Security system that tracks foreign students in the United States is not to blame for a drop in visa applications from international scholars, a congressional report says.

The system, nicknamed SEVIS, has some technical bugs that need to be resolved, the report by the Government Accountability Office concluded Thursday. But educators cited other factors — including a lengthy visa application process and competition from other countries — to account for the dramatic decrease in foreign students applying to enter U.S. schools.

International graduate student applications fell 32 percent last year, surveys show, and first-time foreign enrollees in graduate schools were down 6 percent — the third straight decline after a decade of growth.

Of course it's not SEVIS, it's the American Nazi Party, Bush it's leader and the Republicans and the Nazi Fundamentalist Christians which are the reason.

As any of you might remember, I predicted this would happen 3 years ago. I was overseas and just talked to my friends, students, and LISTENED to what they said. It's NOT rocket science it's just the truth. Speaking of rocket science, the Space Shuttle hasn't flown in about 5 years.

2. Who would want to risk going to the US
now that the bush admin has pulled out of the international agreement that foreigners are entitled to contact their embassies if they run into trouble, anyone and everyone is subject to being sent to Gitmo based on nothing, tortured, and no one would ever know.

Somehow the actions of the bush admin don't strike me as welcoming to any foreigners.
