U.S. Soldier Dies in Baghdad Attack (1521)

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Attackers opened fire on a U.S. patrol in the Iraqi capital on Friday, killing one soldier, the military said.

The Task Force Baghdad soldier died from a gunshot wound when his patrol in northeast Baghdad was attacked Friday afternoon, the military said in a statement.


The soldier's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
