NEW YORK, March 21 (Reuters) - Investment bank Goldman
Sachs Group Inc. GS on Monday said it agreed to acquire
Zilkha Renewable Energy, a wind-power development firm, adding
to its growing portfolio of power generation assets.
New York-based Goldman declined to disclose terms of the
transaction. Zilkha Renewable of Houston, led by father and son
team Selim and Michael Zilkha, is developing wind-power
projects with nearly 4,000 megawatts of generating capacity in
a dozen states.
The purchase includes Zilkha's interest in the 200-megawatt
Flat Rock Wind Power project in Lewis County, New York, and its
stake in the 150-MW Blue Canyon Phase II project in Oklahoma.
Both projects are expected to be completed by the end of this
year.
