Baghdad Car Explodes; U.S. Soldiers at Compound Not Injured
July 14 (Bloomberg) -- A car exploded on a Baghdad street about a quarter-mile from where some U.S. soldiers are stationed, without causing any injuries to American personnel, a military spokeswoman said.

The car was parked on al-Salihya street, across from the convention center where some U.S. soldiers are based, Army Specialist Nicci Trent said by telephone from Baghdad.

``We could see it from here,'' she said. ``We don't know why the vehicle exploded.''

2. A car laden with explosives blew up near the police station.
Was that yesterday? So this is a totally new exploding car?

The car I heard about earlier was a Volkswagen(?), and only one Iraq was killed, and the car wasn't close enough to the police station when it exploded, hence no U.S. casualties. That's all I know. I think I heard it on the radio.

3. I counted 3 today
The one near the police station earlier, this one (which apparently was an SUV near Central Command HQ), and one in Afghanistan.
