Judge rules journalist's lawsuit against Arnold Schwarzenegger can go ahea
A British judge on Wednesday rejected an attempt to block a lawsuit by a British journalist who says she was groped by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and then libeled by his aides.

High Court Judge David Eady agreed with a court official's ruling that journalist Anna Richardson could serve proceedings on Schwarzenegger at the High Court in London. He dismissed an attempt by Schwarzenegger spokesman Sean Walsh to stop the case from going ahead on the grounds that English courts had no jurisdiction.

Richardson claims the "Terminator" star fondled her breast during an interview in London in 2000 and that his staff subsequently damaged her reputation as a professional interviewer by alleging she encouraged the behavior.
...
When allegations emerged during his 2003 election campaign, he apologized for having "behaved badly sometimes" toward women and doing some things that "were not right, which I thought were playful."

5. Groping is just harmless fun...
it's not a condecending and arrogant act against an unwilling person who is usually in a position of less power or stature.

They're welcome to use that argument for their defense.

3. A british court has no jurisdiction for a crime committed in London?
A novel defense strategy, to put it mildly.

6. well the suit isn't against the groping
its against the libel spewed by his operatives against HER for going public with the groping. So I guess they tried to say that since the libel was spewed in California... Are where words are said - subject to jurisdiction in libel? Guess not, according to the judge (good thing, too!)

4. Glad
this woman has some strength to try to stand up for herself against the slimeball gubiterminator. Glad the courts didn't swoon for arnie and let him get his way.
