Officer had nude photos of suspect, report says
He downloaded them off her cell phone after her DWI arrest, document shows
By STEVE MCVICKER
Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle
It began as the fairly routine arrest of a drunken-driving suspect on a Houston street.

It quickly evolved into a maze of questions as investigators checked out reports that a Houston police officer had found nude photos of the driver stored in her cellular phone, downloaded them and later showed them around the courthouse.

Patrolman Christopher Green has been reassigned to desk duty pending the outcome of an internal investigation. His partner, George Miller, also has been reassigned while the department looks into reports that he called the DWI suspect's home to ask her out.

"We're sort of waiting to see what's going to happen," said Houston Police Officers' Union attorney Aaron Suder, who represents the officers.

Complicating matters is the fact that the 25-year-old woman, a native of China who is here on a student visa, speaks little English, her attorney says.

Hell in Wisconsin

We have had Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer. I don't think Texas has ever had 2 guys like that.

For those who never heard of ED Gein here is his story

The owner, 51-year-old Ed Gein, was not in but Sheriff Schley had a warrant to search the premises. As he walked through the trash in the darkened kitchen he brushed into something hanging from the ceiling. He turned and shone his torch on the object.

It was a naked human carcass, beheaded, disembowelled and hung upside down from a ceiling beam. Mr Schley gagged at the sight of it but managed to avoid throwing up. The carcass turned out to be the freshly gutted remains of Mrs Worden and police found her head in a burlap sack in another part of the house.

Nails had been hammered through each ear and tied together with twine, as if in readiness for the head to be hung up as a trophy. Detectives spent the entire night, and the next day, trawling through the house. What they found marked a horrific new low in the annals of American crime.

Somebody had been using female body parts to fashion a series of ghoulish artefacts. A belt had been studded with nipples, a soup bowl had been created out of the top of a skull, and lampshades and chairs had been fashioned out of human skin. Police found a box full of noses, a curtain pull with a pair of women's lips sewed into it.

5. George W. Bush and Tom Delay
Between them Gein and Dahmer only killed, what, maybe a dozen people? The Bush Body Count makes them look like a couple of Quakers.

7. Gein was the person on who both the Texas Chainsaw Massacre
and the character Jame Gumb in Silence of the Lambs were based, along with quite a few other horror and thriller movies.

Not closely bases, but Gein is where they got the overall concept from.

9. You are correct !!!!
The one and the same. I was 11, when Ed was prowling the countryside near where grew up. Our parents threatened to let him babysit us once "He got out of jail" Thankfully he never did. Some one tried to buy his house ad turn it into a MUSEUM

A few locals put short shrift to that and torched the place to the ground.

The crime of torching Ed's house was never solved and a lot of locals believe people in high places were responsible for the arson.

12. Many Texans live around me
here in AR-and I mean REAL Texans, whose roots go back to this state for five or six generations. To call W a "Texan" is an insult to them-one of the more printable names for him is "carpetbagger".

Northerners who moved south. Really. They have gotten down south, taking their pre-existing internal crap with them, and in the attempt to "fit in", they start doing a weird-assed parody of what they think is a Southerner.

This is not based upon supposition. I have seen this more than once.

11. out of curiosity
why would she have nude photos of herself on her phone? i mean, its not like if she wanted see herself naked she couldn't just look at herself.....

....of course, this doesn't excuse in anyway the officer's invasion of her privacy and illegal search and seizure.

18. this isn't a story about Texas. this is a story about the kind of people
who decide to become cops. we need better screening all over the country... certainly something in this schmuck's past life would have given a hint as to his insensitivity and twisted behavior.

19. okay... dwi suspect...
wouldn't a search be limited to things needed to make a conviction on the charge (eg breathalizer, etc.) ... Maybe I can even understand (if the driving had been very erratic - the story doesn't talk much about the original arrest so it is hard to tell), searching the car and/or possessions for other contraband. But what would looking at pics stored on a phone have to do with a dwi arrest in the first place?

THe whole download (violation of privacy) thing - then show around... and his partner calling the woman at home ... ick. Discipline is deserved. But still - I am curious as to why he was checking the vidphone pics in the first place.

20. Stories like this ..
... make me crazy.

Desk job while they "investigate". What is to investigate? There is and can be absolutely no justification for this action.

If the department doesn't fire this drooling shithead then I hope the 'perp' slams him with a civil suit he never forgets.

Think about how strong the police union is in most places. If you don't follow the process all hell will break loose.
