France Denies It Gave UK Iraq Nuclear Intelligence
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20030714/wl_nm/iraq_britain_france_dc_1

PARIS (Reuters) - France denied on Monday it had supplied Britain with the intelligence behind London's assertion that Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s Iraq (news - web sites) had attempted to import uranium from Africa. "Contrary to the insinuations that have appeared in the British press, France is not the origin of intelligence published in the British report dated September 24, 2002 and relating to Iraq's nuclear program," the foreign ministry said in a terse statement.

The Financial Times reported on Monday that two foreign governments it said were "thought to be France and Italy" had supplied Britain with information which added to now-discredited domestic intelligence documents.

A diplomat in Vienna told Reuters he also believed Britain's evidence came from French intelligence services.

3. Wonderful!

Think I'll celebrate with a plate of French Toast, some French Fries, and some French champagne, if I can manage it! Oh, yeah. A salad with French dressing.

4. FBIS/CIA stated 09/2002 French intelligence saw no nuclear threat
From an report by ISIS "U.S. Allies Were Not Persuaded By U.S. Assertions on Iraq WMD"

French intelligence services did not come up with the same alarming assessment of Iraq and WMD as did the Britain and the United States. "According to secret agents at the DGSE, Saddam's Iraq does not represent any kind of nuclear threat at this time…It contradicts the CIA's analysis…"5 French spies said that the Iraqi nuclear threat claimed by the United States was a "phony threat."
