UCSC clerical-strike talk heats up

SANTA CRUZ — Clerical workers at UC Santa Cruz may follow in the footsteps of service workers who voted last week to authorize a strike.

"We have the legal right to strike on an economic basis," said Becky Klein, financial assistant at UCSC’s engineering school and president of Local 10 of the Coalition of Union Employees.

UC officials announced Friday they have been unable to reach an agreement with the union regarding wages for 2003-04. The Coalition of Union Employees represents 16,000 workers statewide and 600 at UCSC. <snip>

1. Let's hope the nurses get tired of Vominater

and threaten a strike. Let's hope the whole damned stake gets sick of his shit and threatens to strike. Let's see enough of the state actually go on strike to kill him politically, send him back to making overpriced B movies where acting skills aren't important.
