Marysville teachers move closer to strike (CA)
By Kymm Mann/Appeal-Democrat

Teachers moved closer to a strike Friday as they rejected the latest contract proposal from the Marysville Joint Unified School District.

Don Fry, president of the Marysville Unified Teachers Association, said members turned down the district's offer, 281-102.

The MUTA membership will vote between April 4 and April 8 on whether to strike.

"We've never had a strike in this district, and I really would prefer if we didn't have one now," Fry said. "But people are just really upset at the fiscal mismanagement of the district." <snip>
