Bush Prays for Troops at Easter Services

snip>
For a third straight year, the president made the 50-mile helicopter flight from his ranch in Crawford to mark Christianity's highest holiday at the largest active-duty armored post in the military and a base that has contributed thousands of troops to the U.S. force in Iraq.

He joined several hundred members of the Protestant congregation for the service at the 4th Infantry Division Memorial Chapel. Accompanying the president were first lady Laura Bush, daughters Jenna and Barbara, and his parents, the first President Bush and Barbara Bush.

``I want to wish all the fellow citizens and their families a happy Easter,'' Bush told reporters after the service. ``We prayed for peace, we prayed for our soldiers and their families. It's an honor to be here at Fort Hood to celebrate Easter with those who wear the nation's uniform.''

The president and his family then returned to the ranch for the day. Their Easter dinner menu included Texas grapefruit; homemade mozzarella salad; glazed ham; green chili cheese grits souffle; roasted asparagus with lemon dressing; chive biscuits; fresh fruit; coconut cake; and blueberry pie.

12. Jesus said turn the other cheek if an enemy strikes you.
Bush and his supporters say "smite their cheek first, if it even looks like they could smite your's".

The advice of Jesus on this matter is extremely hard to follow, but Bush doesn't even believe it is necessary for someone to do you harm before you strike at him. I know military personnel require and deserve religious observances, but there are better days than Easter for a civilian leader to join in services with soldiers - Veteran's Day for example. In my opinion.

25. It reminded me of the Dems who were criticized for having lunch in FL
http://www.bpnews.net/bpcolumn.asp?ID=1771

JACKSONVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--"The Republican Nine first came together over fried chicken and salad."

The St. Petersburg Times reported March 20 that a handful of Florida state senators became known as the Republican Nine when they resolved together that they would not support legislation offered by Republican Sen. Daniel Webster to help save Terri Schiavo from the cruel death ordered by Florida Judge George Greer.

Don't miss the irony -- nine Republican senators decided while they enjoyed a meal that it was OK for a Florida citizen to be starved to death!

14. Coming from a fortunate son chickenhawk, it really means a lot . . .
Fortunate Son

Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail To The Chief",
oh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no senator's son,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no,

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh.
But when the taxman come to the door,
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no millionaire's son.
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no.

Yeh, some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, how much should we give,
oh, they only answer, more, more, more, yoh,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no military son,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate son, no no no,

- John C. Fogerty

16. Laura's 58 so preggers is out of the question...
It's just really bad posture.
"Chin up, shoulders back, chest out, back straight, hips tucked under" can take pounds & years off the appearance.
But if I had to walk alongside the Chimp, I'd slouch too.

28. This is gross so I apologize in advance
My younger brother, who has a thing about women's breasts, and has about 20 names for them depending on their size, shape, "attitude" (don't ask), among numerous other criteria, thinks that Laura Bush is a hot babe (Sweet Jesus, I can't believe I'd ever see those words in the same sentence!) soley based on the fact the "She has terrific knockers!! They're so great!"
I remember upon hearing this shocking confession, "I have to memorize this exactly as he said it or no one will ever believe me when I tell them that he needs help." I needn't have bothered, that conversation will be burned into my memory forever.

He's my baby brother, and I love him, but I am so horrified by this news that I'm thinking about asking my Mom if we really share the same DNA. Perhaps he was left on the doorstep in a basket. Then there were all those years we had the milk delivered by the really, really friendly milk man...
There's nothing wrong with admiring specific parts of a woman's figure, but c'mon - Laura Bush??? She'd make a great spokeswoman doing public service spots for "feminine itching" or "those days when you don't feel so fresh" - I just can't imagine a sexy thing about this woman. Has he lost his mind or have I just lost my perspective because I loathe all things Bush?

22. preparedness
many of these kids have been molded into this killing game from the 90's on via the shot-em-up computer games. Remember Wolfenstein? There were dozens. The US military even has one of it's own online. You can shoot the terrorists on the Web. The military monitors the participants and targets them for recruitng.

Unfortunately, in the 'police actions' we're carrying out all over the world - particularly in Iraq or Afghan, if you back down or complain, you might just end up with a shell in your back.

26. more troops?
All they need to do is another 911. The first one went rather easy and so far, no one can break through the news media cryptonite wall of lies. Another strategic building demolished, like OKC. It's really easy. Controlled demolitions can be made to look like terrorist acts. Did you notice the WTC towere fell at the speed of gravity? WTC7 collapsed from the center down. Perfect! And we all fell for it.

Once it's done though, we just point at some country (Iran for example) and tell the country we need to 'defend the homeland' much the way Hitler did. Phoney intelligence can be manufactured easily. Then we instate the DRAFT! You must fight for der furor!

He doesn't need to 'pray' for more troops, just pull another 911.
