Deputy put on leave after e-mail on shooting scene published

I wondered if this was coming ....

CROOKSTON, Minn. (AP) - A Polk County sheriff's deputy has been put on administrative leave after writing an e-mail describing the scene of the Red Lake school shooting.

James Goss was put on leave yesterday, the day USA Today first published part of the e-mail Goss had sent to members of his family.

The Associated Press and the St. Paul Pioneer Press also obtained the e-mail and wrote stories citing Goss' description of the scene.

1. Why can't we know about the scene?

Are we just waiting so that it wont be offensive to family members?
