FALLUJAH, Iraq, April 1 (Xinhuanet) -- A suicide car bomb hit a US checkpoint at the entrance of a US military base west of the restive city of Ramadi on Friday, witnesses said.
The explosion took place when a suicide bomber drove a booby-trapped truck into the US military checkpoint around midday. Casualties were not known as the US troops sealed off the area, the witnesses said.
They said the US troops blocked two main bridges of Ramadi as they surrounded the city, some 100 km west of Baghdad. The US military did not confirm the incident.
