FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


EVACUATED DETAINEE DIES AT FIELD HOSPITAL

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A detainee who was medically evacuated to the 115th Field Hospital died April 4 at approximately 6 p.m. from gunshot wounds he received two weeks ago during an attack on Coalition Forces.

Efforts to save the detainee’s life ended when he died as a result of his wounds.

The remains will be transferred to the Iraqi government and returned to the family upon completion of an autopsy. This is standing procedure for all detainees who die while in custody of the Multi-National Force.

The incident is currently under investigation.

14. I'll believe it when....
I get updates like this about every one of our soldiers who are evacuated after being wounded.

you're right - it is way too weird for them to be listing detainee casualties - this smells of a CYA memo

wonder what the autopsy will show and really where this guy was shot - if he was wounded, why was he not taken first for treatment before being sent to "prison"?
