As Clinton seeks to mark legacy, counter- library group wants to mock it
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP)

Rising from the downtown streets, a $160 million center will one day be a place to celebrate the accomplishments of Bill Clinton's eight years as leader of the free world.

Just a few blocks away, a Houston businessman and a former one-term Republican congressman from New York (former U.S. Rep. John LeBoutillier) are hoping to build a center of their own to mock the Clinton presidency. ---

The Counter-Clinton Library here, and one planned for Washington, will be places where people can remember Whitewater, Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky, according to LeBoutillier and his business partner, Richard Erickson. ---

Dick Morris, Clinton's former strategist who resigned after revelations of an affair with a former call girl, has pledged stacks of his insider documents, as has Gary Aldrich, the former FBI agent whose best-seller about Clinton's scandals made headlines in 1997. ---

2. Stuff like this used to make me mad
but now I don't care. All this does is prove how small-minded and bitter these people are. I remember reading a quote from LeBoutillier objecting to the fact that Clinton's library would try to enhance his legacy. Well, duh, all presidential libraries do that. What are these people afraid of?

5. All the bitching they do about us...
...and then they pull this one out. I find it truly sad and pathetic that they are so unable to defend the actions of their current Golden Boy that they have to resort to the old "Clinton got a blow job" story. They absolutely hate that they pulled out all teh stops and they still couldn't do anything to him. he was popular the entire time he was in office, and didn't ahve to use a war to stay that way, and he was popular when he left office. It absolutely kills them.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Clinton isn't the President anymore. Get over it already.

8. Introducing the "Counter Bush Library"
Edited on Mon Jul-14-03 06:30 PM by bluestateguy
Plans should start immediately. We can have exhibts of all the presidential dishonesty not about sex, but war. Intelligence failures. Exhibits of killed Iraqi civilians and American troops. An exhibit on this president's failed economic strategy. His obsession with secrecy. The stolen election and BIG map showing who won the popular vote.

But, we should offer an olive branch: if the Clinton haters will abandon their plans we will do likewise.

14. Excellent. I was thinking the same.
These people are out of their unhappy minds. They just have to get one more jab in...the last word. All that their little Counter Clinton library will do position them as the a--holes they are.

15. Think of it this way...
Bill Clinton's new library is to American history, what Hillary's book "Living History" is to American History--true histories. Anne Coulter's book "Treason" is to American history, what those stupid-ass counter libraries are to American history--lies and distortions.

Historians report on facts, based on emperical EVIDENCE. Not myths and mirages, which are based on false impressions. You can repeat a lie a million times, it will always remain a lie.

19. I think the counter-Clinton library is a great idea
What better tribute to Clinton than to have a permanent exhibit of the idiocy he had to battle against daily. It will make a much stronger case that Clinton was an excellent president despite the continuous assinine assault. I have written to the founder to let him know that I think it's a fine idea.
