If anyone in Ohio has a Newspaper account of this, please post it, I have only found it on NPR

1. The same folks who hate gays are also sympathetic towards wife beating

so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

This was probably intentional, imho. I don't see how this newspaper can definatively say that this was unintentional or "unintended". The author can't read minds.

2. I can't say for sure, but it sounds like a very Ill-conceived Law...
...It was a Law Student that figured out the Serious flaw with this Law.

Ohio, for future reference, do NOT write discrimination INTO your laws or State Constitution, It's probable Unconstitutional.

4. Constitution? What's that? Sounds familiar, like The Bill of Rights.
Sure I've heard of it somewhere before. Oh yeah, America. Where is it going?!!

Maybe they'll put in the old "rule of thumb" provision for gays. You can't beat your partner with anything larger than your thumb. It worked for the straight men for years!!

3. Voters were warned this would happen
One tactic the pro-marriage folks used against the bill was pointing out that it was so broad that it would affect unmarried heterosexual couples as well as homosexual couples. "Oh, no it won't," cried the wingnuts. "You just want to scare people!" And then after it passed lawyers started using it to fight domestic abuse charges.

Here is link to Ohio legislature trying to fix the mess they made:
