11. "BRING EM ON" shouted the AWOL CHIMPANZEE
"I am now getting ready for my weakly (sic) radio address", he proclaimed.

"I am going to tell the SHEEP that freedom is on the march.", he continued.

2. It used to be that four Americans dying in 24 hours
would be front page news. Now, McDonald's anniversary is more important.

3. Security incidents?
Well the euphemisims just keep getting softer and softer. I remember when stuff like that was called war or maybe resistance to an occupying force.

4. My thoughts exactly
First we had the Korean "police action" and then the Vietnam "conflict", now we'll have several years worth of "security incidents."

Funny thing, though. Our troops are just as dead no matter how they try to disguise the facts.

15. Well, a car bomb is technically
a motor vehicle incident, or traffic accident. Its just that every day is july 4th weekend in Iraq

6. The Republicans close their eyes to the Iraq war
Like Babs Bush, they don't want to bother their beautiful minds with our dead kids. See at www.icasualties.org

8. Reminds me of the Russkies in Afghanistan
They went in there, they pacified a bunch of areas, controlled some roads, owned Kabul....but out in East Jesus (or West Mohamed) the insurgency was slowly gathering strength. When they left, it was with far less grace than the French left Vietnam...and slightly more than our hasty departure from that same place.

The Russkies never reported the war over there, either.

12. Yes, the parallels are stunning
I still believe that war had more to do with the self-destruction of the soviet empire than Ray-gun or the head of the catholic sodomy experiment.

13. "head of the catholic sodomy experiment"
Man, that's incisive. Mind if I add that to my A-list of descriptives?

Oooh.
