McNabb disregards Rush's idiocy
THE WORLD MUST look a whole lot different, when you have your head firmly lodged in your hindquarters.

That's the only explanation I can figure for Rush Limbaugh's ugly insinuations during Sunday's pregame show on ESPN, when Limbaugh blithely smeared the accomplishments of Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, suggesting that McNabb gets more credit than he deserves because he is black.

I have to believe that to McNabb and his family, the world always has seemed pretty much the opposite of what Limbaugh outlined. When they moved to mostly white Dolton, Ill., from the South Side of Chicago, for example, and their house was vandalized while they were getting ready to move in, the McNabbs probably didn't see this as one of the benefits of being black. And Donovan recalled yesterday that he didn't feel terribly privileged when he was looking for a college and kept hearing from Midwestern schools about what a fine running back or defensive back he would make - guess those coaches weren't in step with the master plan of the media and the NFL to boost black QBs.

"It's sad that you've got to go to skin color. I thought we were through with that whole deal," McNabb told the Daily News yesterday, when Limbaugh's comments were relayed to him.<snip>

1. yeah
I didn't want Rush fired because he didn't talk politics, but once he slipped once I would fire emails to ESPN, well Rush stepped over the line and I am glad McNabb is taking a stand for this. Limpballz is pathetic and his comments were uncalled for.

4. We need to take a stand
boycotting won't work, because a small portion of people boycotting won't make them fire him, we need to fire off some emails to ESPN headquarters. It is a shame Rush had to ruin my favorite show for the last 5 years.

I congratulated them for knowingly hiring an inexperienced untalented windbag with no credentials ostensibly for his novelty value. I told them he makes shock jocks look high brow. I also thanked them for lowering the level of discourse so that we can now enjoy nonfactual, rancorous speech and racist slurs while watching sports, as if we don't get enough of that in all other public arenas.

11. Tin Foil?
You know what I think this is?

The sports press is much more apolitical than regular news media - after all, they have to follow sports, not politics or other crap. As a result, they're less censored and less accustomed to being censored, and not as timid in calling things the way they really do see it.

So for Rush, this is a way of breaking sportscasting into dealing with politics.

For ESPN, consider the following: Evil Ruprecht Murdoch owns Fox sports. Eveil Ruprecht owns DirectTV, a pipeline for Fox sports.

Making sense now?

If you're a football fan, post something like the following on the or message boards.

Suggested subject line: Tell ESPN to get rid of Rush Limbaugh

"I don't think he's (McNabb) been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL," Limbaugh said. "The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well; I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team, that he really didn't deserve."

<http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/6894896.htm>

I guess the media likes the Patriots' Tom Brady because they want a young white guy to do well, and ESPN likes Limbaugh because they want a loudmouth bigot to do well.

If you want to complain to ESPN, go to this URL:

but I'd prefer if I were able to email Tom Jackson and Michael Irvin directly. How can those two stand that prick? Personally, I've been boycotting ESPN pregame shows because of fat ass. Which is too bad because it sounds like Tom Jackson wants to rifle his fist though Limpass's skull. Wish he would.

He is the one that makes that Eagles offense move, he has the physical toughness to play even though he has a fractured ankle and can make plays with his legs when the pocket breaks down. The Eagles would be morons to release him.

Let's see. McNabb's addition to this team has taken it from 3 and 13 a few years ago, to the NFC championship in 2001, and he set the stage for the NFC championship game last year, which he arguably played on a broken leg.

He lost, very badly, 2 games this year because he was afraid to use his legs as a weapon, nad because his coach hates the running game. When he and Andy Reid added a running game (McNabb + Duce Staley + Corel Buckhoulter + Brian Westbrokk) sunday, it took the pressure off McNabb's passing game, improved his completion stats markedly and it WON THE GAME against a good Buffalo Bills team.

McNabb will be fine and will be on the Eagles into the distant future.

26. I don't think a boycott would work, but
an email telling ESPN that you will no longer watch their program, period, might do the trick. They want controversy, fine, have "football" comtroversy - not this jack-legged racist shit! I can't believe the other commentators on the show put up with this - it reflects poorly on them as it does on ESPN. There is no honor in America, any more. It was sold; it was raped; it was ground beneath the heels of fat, soft-handed, punks like Limbaugh, who have never worked a day in their lives and never been on the business end of stiff left jab. That last is what they really need.

37. Limbaugh Critique Out-Of-Bounds? - CBS
Donovan McNabb has been to three straight Pro Bowls and two consecutive NFC championship games, and was runner-up for NFL MVP in his first full season as a starter.

Still, commentator Rush Limbaugh questions his credentials.

Before McNabb led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 23-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills, Limbaugh said on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" that McNabb is overrated. The comment contained racial overtones that set off a controversy.

49. The NFL Players
need to stand up on this issue. We shouldn't be doing the heavy lifting for them. They have the power, they have the Union.

If they are willing to subject themselves to being the house n*gger to Rush and ESPN and Disney let them. If Michael Irvin & Tom Jackson want to sit there and let Rush say that the only reason why they are there are for "Social Concern." They are adults, if they aren't going to use their status to fight for the little guy, then I don't give a f*ck about them.

We've got too many serious issuses to deal with, let the NFL Players take care of themselves.

Everybody knew that Rush would say something this bigoted. Everybody was warned. It's the players' own damn fault for playing along with ESPN.
