Ex-Coaldale police chief apologizes for criminal action

''I embarrassed myself as a police officer,'' Nihen said.

At the hearing, prosecutors said another officer was involved in trying to cover up the drug-planting scheme in which Nihen, former Lansford canine officer Jeremy Sommers and former Coaldale Patrolman Michael Weaver participated.

Zubrod said the investigation began when citizens complained of police brutality in the Panther Valley.

Then, he said, the victims of the drug-planting, George and Vincent Becker, complained that officers took bribes from them and turned around and arrested them.

Officers of the law should get at least five years hard time for taking bribes and twenty-to-life for abusing their position of trust to frame someone. IMHO.

2. Put Them in a Maximum Security State Prison

Cops who frame innocent people should be placed in a maximum security State prison, with permanent tatoos on their forehead that say "Former Cop - Please Bend Me Over".
