2. This is Bush's "Economic Recovery"
This is a recovery without jobs! The bllions that will be re-invested by the wealthy spending their tax cuts are going overseas. None of this money will create U.S. jobs. Rebuilding the Iraqi infrastrucure, that the U.S. needlessly destroyed, will serve only to further enrich the Halliburton shareholders. How about investing in the U.S. infrastructure?

3. Here it says "up to 17700" Jobs
Low (sic) productivity as official reason; the American budget deficit came up as possible inofficial reason in a talkshow yesterday .

4. "here"?? where??
You forgot your link..

But of course, 5000 is bad enough and we know there will be way more than that.. That's all they feel "safe" enough to report..

What pisses me off is that every one of those jobs has a PERSON..a FAMILY..a MORTGAGE attached to it..:grr:

8. What really pisses me off is this..

They will "threaten" a lot of workers who "just happen to be in their late 40's or early 50's".. These are the guys who have kids headed off to college, mortgages, elderly parents..you know.. the "icky-hard-to-afford" stuff.. They will be pressured into an early retirement, and then probably not be able to afford the shitty healthcare options, so just when they NEED it most, they will be oon their own..

I had this very thing happen to a friend of mine who worked at Lockheed.. He had worked there since he was fresh out of college.. It was the only job he ever had.. He loved it there, and was well reviewed and liked, and WHAM.. they "eliminated" his whole section, and out he went.. They acted like they were doing him a favor..

He was severely depressed for months, and now is working at about 1/3 of what he made before..

He was so worried, that in about 7 months he went completely gray, and lost about 30 lbs.. He was 53 at the time, and like he said, what the hell am I supposed to do for the next 11-12 years.. His 401-k was the only hope they had and now their nest egg is pretty small..

Companies that lay off so cavalierly, are the evil ones..:(

10. The Catch 22 American health care "system"
<They will be pressured into an early retirement, and then probably not be able to afford the shitty healthcare options, so just when they NEED it most, they will be on their own..>

When you are healthy and working you get health care, if it is available to you. When you get sick, become disabled and can't work, you lose it. Funny how that works.
